Comparing Available Child Locator Devices

Oct 02, 2009 in Electronics

Everyday the news includes stories of yet another child abduction or missing child, and as the time passes from the moment the child was last scene the chance of recovery goes down. For parents there is nothing worse than not knowing where their child is and if they are safe. We hear of stories such as Jaycee Duggard or Elizabeth Smart who are able to get home, but for these stories there are many more who are found murdered or stay unsolved for a lifetime.

While there is no way to completely stop children from becoming separated from their parents or even to prevent abduction there are new ways to decrease the time the child is away from home and recover them quicker. Now parents can use one of the many personal tracking devices available to find their children quickly to bring them home safe.

Of course every personal tracker available is not made the same so each will function a little different making it important for parents to compare each child locator device to get the model that suits their needs the best. There is a broad difference in the range models available will operate and the price varies based on this. From just a few hundred feet away to only the limitations of your cell phone and the GPS satellites in the sky are just how different the choices are in operating distance.

The more affordable child locator devices have limited use since they will only work within a range of a few hundred feet. These most often use a bracelet worn by the child, which emits a signal that is tracked via a small handheld device carried by the parents. These devices can be used perfectly to find a small toddler that has wandered off. Some even include a warning signal when the wristband gets a certain distance from the receiver so that if parents do not notice the child is gone they will be told.

Other personal tracking devices such as the Amber Alert GPS child locator works by using a combination of a cell phone and a GPS enabled device. The child carries a small device in their pocket, which can be accessed via the GPS satellites, located in space. When a parent wants to know the location of their child they simply request it via their cell phone where they will receive the coordinates on a map showing where their child is. These devices are only limited on cell phone coverage of the particular carrier making them very effective ways to locate children from very long distances or just right across town.

The GPS enabled devices do cost a little more but have a much broader range of coverage, which combines, with many other features. With a available panic button and the ability to program safe zones parents can monitor their child and keep them safe just as if they were right there with them.

Looking For A Dachshund For Sale?

Apr 29, 2009 in I have no idea!

A very good friend of mine is a breeder of purebred Dachshund puppies. For those looking to buy a purebred dog of any breed it can sometimes be tough to find the dog that you are looking for. In the past it was hard to find the breed you want locally and if you did there was usually not a large selection of dogs.

But now with the internet you can buy a dog with ease and get just the one you want. Of course buyers do need to be aware and careful that they are buying from a reputable breeder who actually cares about their animals and are not just looking to make a buck.

Dennis Dachshunds in Missouri are just one of those breeders. This family not only raises these dogs they have several that live inside their home with them and all of the pets in their kennel are treated like family. If you are looking for a Dachshund for sale than please check out their website and look into their puppy guarantee. They also have several satisfied past customers who are more than willing to give recommendations so you know they truly care about their Dachshunds.

Brutal Killing Of Wolves In Alaska

Feb 06, 2009 in Wildlife

When Sarah Palin burst onto the political scene last year I was not impressed with this woman at all. She was not intelligent at all (as seen in the Couric interview) and she really had nothing to offer this country. I, personally  was happy to see her fly back to Alaska to finish out her term.

Of course now that Defenders Action Fund has released the following video with Ashley Judd revealing the aerial slaughter of animals in Alaska I am appalled that Alaska even wanted her back in the state.

For full disclosure, I have hunted in the past. I started with a rifle and then moved to a bow, my success rate was never that good and I have not been in a long time. I wanted to feed my family and have the sense of being one with the land. I never took a trophy or a animal out of season, plus I always used the meat completely.

I do understand an ecosystem can really only carry so many of a species before another species starts to be on the negative end of the overpopulation. Plus I understand that the wolves in Alaska only have man to fear and they probably do need thinned out for the sake of the hooved animals they prey upon. But an aerial slaughter is not hunting but a brital senseless killing of a beautiful animal. Plus you know the ones doing the killing are those who have plenty of money and simply want this trophy to add to a colletion that is purely egotistical.

Go to the Eye On Palin website and donate and stay up on the news. Though this initial issue is on the aerial killing of wolves, Palin is also for mass killing of other species, large scale logging, and even oil drilling in sensitive areas. Let Alaska & Palin know that this kind of behavior went out of style at the turn of the centrury and it will not be tolereated.

Is The Economy This Bad, Or Is This Guy That Stupid?

Feb 05, 2009 in I have no idea!

First of all I know you are innocent until proven guily, so maybe just maybe this guy is not guily of his crime. Now with that out of the way, what was he thinking?

Just so everyone knows what I am talking about a gentleman tried to steal cookies from McDonalds and then tried fleeing from the cops. For the whole story you can go here.

First of all why cookies? Why not get crazy and steal a whole hamburger? Or maybe what every other thief steals something of value like say… money.

It appears he was pretty drunk since that is some of the several charges that he is now facing. The best part is the names he is now getting from “Cookie Bandit” to “Cookie Monster”.
