It’s No Wonder We Need Health Care Reform - Arkansas Blue Cross Is Misleading
Though I am not one of the ones wanting the government to control our health care insurance since they cannot even manage themselves correctly, I will say something needs to be done.
My spouse and I have Arkansas Blue Cross at this time since that is what his company offers. Of course it recently went up $100 a month and it is useless anyway.
My daughter came down with strep throat in college and a simple visit to a urgent care clinic was billed at $560. Yep, you read that right! $560 to see a doc for less than 10 minutes and get a strep culture and prescription (which cost seperate to get filled). Somone needs to look at what doctors charge!
But to make matters worse she went to that facility since it was on the list of providers we received from Arkansas Blue Cross. Yet when the bill comes they will not pay it. The lame excuse is that it was billed to them as outpatient as opposed to urgent care. Who cares! If we are insured, why aren’t you paying it!
Long story short if you can avoid this misleading insurace company, do so! The service is terrible, the costs too expensive, and the insurance is useless even when you use their list of providers!

This story is all too familiar. Those who have insurance pay way too high a price for services and the insurance does not cover many of them. While others see a doctor when they want and never pay a bill at all.

Ever watched Michael Moore’s Sicko, it’s pretty obvious that there is no such thing as ‘Care’ in the US Health Care system.

Health care does need reformed but I do not think a government which cannot get out of the red is the one to run it.

The reform needs to be for what is being charged by the doctors. If they were not so expensive it would not be so bad.
